You're Not Pretty, You're Worse is Meridene's return - the band's second effort and first full-length. The album translates easily into a well put-together mixtape directly from the mind of Eau Claire singer-songwriter, Trevor Ives, who leads the band with his unique pop-sensibility and sharp awareness of his Midwestern roots. The ten tracks center around forefully light-hearted guitar driven power-pop incased under heavy-hearted lyrics of lost love, self defeat and the guilt of commiting a crime. Simple indie rock and hints of alt-country also seems to make appearences, which provides contracts and exposes the many chnages the band has gone through over the past year and a half. All in all, You're Not Pretty... is a settlement on a band renewed and a solid addition to the ever expanding Eau Claire music scene.
